I remember going here when I was young. Its never changed its a journey, history. I would highly recommend a visit even if you don't buy anything the stunning design and ideas for fashion and individual style. My daughter who is a teenager absolutely lived the clothes and bought stuff. They staff are fabulous, chatty and individual stylish. Can't wait to return.. second hand clothes from all over the world.

Visited this glorious store after we found out a local kiltmaker was busy through April 2023 for kilts that cost $600 a piece. I’m so happy they told us about Armstrong’s. My cousin and I were able to buy the whole kit for $130-$190 and walk around the city in style within an hour. Sassi and Carol were great company and made piecing together our outfits really fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend this place for their large selection of authentic new/used kilts and other quality garments. There’s enough there to stock your closet with regular clothes too. What a fun and helpful place. I highly recommend.

More than a shop...it's an Edinburgh institution, a museum to ancient clothes and uniforms. I went in to get ski gear and emerged with a jacket from the 80s and some glam rock motorbike gloves. Perfect for the slopes. The shop was packed and the atmosphere is exciting and mysterious. I love it

This wonderful find has a massive stock and variety of fabulous vintage clothes and accessories. Went in looking for a drape or box jacket and whilst they didn’t currently have any in stock the shop owner (?) found a great jacket with a real 40s/50s look to it and I of course bought it! Many thanks for your help.

The girl with the black and white hair was a great help today, I picked out a nice leather jacket and she knew a lot about it just from a glance, definitely coming back.

We went in on behalf of my niece who had forgotten to go back and buy a jumper, the first lady we spoke to was lovely and helped us, unfortunately the specific jumper wasn't available. A short while later we went back to take some photos to show my niece similar items and found 2 members of staff incredibly rude and patronising. One member of staff was especially rude and wasn't prepared to listen to us, telling us we weren't allowed to browse where we were as the cellar hatch was open, despite us being on the correct side of the railing. We offered to move and explained we didn't realise we were in the wrong place, and were in a hurry just looking at a small rail, the sales assistant just walked away telling us to wait which we were prepared to do. The other "tried" to help by vigorously grabbing the clothes from the rail and moving them elsewhere, we tried to explain we'd already looked at the clothes she was moving but she wasn't listening moved them anyway and then acted like we were an inconvenience despite us already agreeing to wait. We ended up buying as my Niece wanted the jumper but we absolutely didn't want to give them any custom.
